The development of design in Indonesia and geographical mapping are crucial aspects for urban planners. Therefore, a planner’s understanding, skills, and mindset must align with the dynamics of the Industrial Revolution, such as being active, involved, and contributing significantly in the field of Regional and Urban Development Planning. Young planners should not only follow trends but also create new ideas and provide innovative solutions. They should possess skills to face global challenges and seize available opportunities.

Based on this, the Student Association of the Urban and Regional Planning Department at Universitas Trisakti organized the Young Planner Management Training (LMPM). The event was held on April 25-26, 2024, in Classroom 505, 5th Floor, Building K, Universitas Trisakti. The event was opened by Mrs. Anindita Ramadhani S.T., M.T., Head of the Urban and Regional Planning Department at Universitas Trisakti. Through LMPM, it is expected to effectively enhance students’ knowledge and skills, as the activities include training on ArcGIS and SketchUp for new students of the Urban and Regional Planning Department.

The LMPM 2024 activities were conducted over two days with the following sessions:

a) On the first day, a session on SketchUp was presented by Mr. Reza Fauzi S.T., M.Ars, a lecturer in the Landscape Architecture Department Universitas Trisakti.

b) On the second day, a session on ArcGIS was presented by Azhar Taufiqurrahman, a student from the Urban and Regional Planning Department, class of 2021, at Universitas Trisakti.

With the LMPM 2024 event, it is hoped that the new students of the Urban and Regional Planning Department, class of 2023, will enhance their design and mapping skills and knowledge, preparing them to become competent and innovative professionals.
