Jakarta, October 28, 2024 – The Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning (FTSP) Universitas Trisakti held a Workshop on Patent Drafting Assistance, aimed at improving the understanding and skills of faculty members in preparing and submitting patents. The event, held in the Meeting Room, 1st floor of Building C at FTSP, was attended by representatives from the Directorate of Patents, Integrated Circuit Layout Designs (DTLST), and Trade Secrets (RD), as well as the Coordinator of Applications and Publications from the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP), along with the deans and faculty members of FTSP.

The workshop was officially opened by the Dean of FTSP, Dr. Ir. A. Hadi Prabowo, MT, who, in his speech, emphasized the importance of patents as a key indicator of innovation and scientific development. According to him, drafting patents is not only about protecting innovative works but also a way for faculty to contribute to the enhancement of education and research quality at Universitas Trisakti.

During the discussion and mentoring session, the speakers from DGIP provided a comprehensive understanding of the steps involved in drafting a proper patent, from idea collection to submission processes. This detailed explanation helped the faculty members grasp the complexities and techniques of patent drafting that can be recognized both nationally and internationally.

Through this workshop, it is expected that the FTSP faculty at Universitas Trisakti will be better prepared to create competitive innovations and contribute to the advancement of science and technology in Indonesia, while also enhancing the university’s competitiveness in research and innovation.
