Universitas Trisakti Students Successfully Conduct the 2nd Batch of the International KUM-ITT to Kitakyushu, Japan

As part of Universitas Trisakti’s efforts to achieve World University Rank status, the Self-Enterprise Studies – Applied Technology (KUM-ITT) program organized a field trip to Kitakyushu, Japan, from May 9-19, 2024. The series of KUM-ITT activities began with preparation sessions for the students conducted by Prof. Dr. Ir. Astri Rinanti, SSi, MT, IPM (Director of LPPM Universitas Trisakti), Dr. Ir. M. Ischak, MT (Deputy Director of LPPM Universitas Trisakti), Ir Wawan Kurniawan, MT., IPM (Head of KUM-ITT LPPM Universitas Trisakti), Indriyani Rachman, PhD (University of Kitakyushu), and Miftahul Huda (PhD student at the University of Kitakyushu). Eighteen students from five faculties participated in the KUM-ITT program:

  • Faculty of Law (4 students): Wahidah Meiana Lailatul Mutoharoh, Aura Raia, Marisa Nur Amalina, Dini Fatihatul Masduki
  • Faculty of Dentistry (2 students): Agatha Priscilla, Aliyah Azzahra
  • Faculty of Earth Technology and Energy (7 students): Kisal Albrian Gheraldy S, Eriana Vistar, Farah Salsabila, Albert William Dion, Muhammad Azlansyah
  • Faculty of Industrial Technology (7 students): Jeanice Aurellia Basri, Vania Ardiyanti Permana, Fauzan Fakhrurrozie, Cahya Restu Anjarsari, Timotius Yonatan, Kayla Malyka Humaira, Gadis Maharani

Additionally, four field supervisors participated: Dr. Ir. M. Ischak, MT., Dr. Ir. Winnie Septiani, ST., MS., Dra. Mustamina Maulani, MT., and Dr. drg. Ciptadhi Tri Oka Binartha, M.Kes.

The learning visit focused on Kitakyushu’s success in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in effective environmental management. The KUM-ITT program, executed by the students, comprised two categories of activities: KUM-ITT activities and Learning Program activities.

KUM-ITT activities included:

  • Hibikino Elementary School with materials on Renewable Energy
  • Outdoor space arrangement of Kitakyushu Mosque
  • Mosque facility arrangement
  • Plastic waste outbound activities
  • Joint activities with students of the University of Kitakyushu
  • Dental health
  • Introduction to Indonesian culture and training in making ketupat wraps

Learning Program activities included:

  • Visit to the Environmental Museum
  • Introduction to Japanese culture at Yukata Castle
  • Murasaki River Museum
  • Workshop at Eco Town Kitakyushu Center
  • Field learning at Mojico Retro Port Harbour
  • SDGs training
  • Shabondama Sekken Factory tour
  • TOTO Museum visit

At the end of this international KUM-ITT program, each student will receive an International KUM-ITT Certificate from the University of Kitakyushu and certificates from Kitakyushu Islamic Culture Center (KICC), Kitakyushu Environmental Museum, Eco Town, Biotope, and Marine Museum. The outputs of the international KUM-ITT include activity posters, presentation materials, activity videos, intellectual property rights (HKI), and additional media coverage. The University of Kitakyushu highly appreciated the students’ serious participation, active involvement in every discussion, and the positive feedback from various visited parties.

It is hoped that the international KUM-ITT program to Japan will benefit Universitas Trisakti students by enabling them to actively contribute to the success of SDGs programs in Indonesia and assist in Universitas Trisakti’s aim to meet international standards.
