Jakarta – Universitas Trisakti has officially established a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Culture of Timor-Leste on September 24, 2024, at the M building of Universitas Trisakti’s A campus.
This agreement aims to strengthen the relationship between the two institutions and improve the quality of education and research in both countries. The collaboration is expected to support human resource development in Timor-Leste and expand Universitas Trisakti’s academic network internationally.
As part of this partnership, both parties have agreed to implement various programs including faculty, student, and researcher exchanges, as well as collaborative projects in higher education, science, and cultural fields. In addition, the partnership also encompasses curriculum development, professional training, and joint research focusing on global issues such as climate change, renewable energy technologies, and cultural preservation.
Present at the event were Vice-Rector III, Ir. Yoska Oktaviano, MT, Vice-Rector IV, Prof. Dr. drg. Tri Erri Astoeti, M.Kes., FISDPH., FISPD, Director of the Institute for Research and Community Service, Prof. Dr. Ir. Astri Rinanti, M.T., IPM., ASEAN Eng., Head of the International Affairs Center, Amalia Zuhra, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D., along with Deans and Vice-Deans from various faculties at Universitas Trisakti, and representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Culture of Timor-Leste.
Vice-Rector IV, Prof. Dr. drg. Tri Erri Astoeti, M.Kes., FISDPH., FISPD, stated, “We are very proud to collaborate with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Culture of Timor-Leste. This partnership is an important step in expanding Trisakti’s role on the international stage, particularly in supporting the development of higher education in Southeast Asia.”
Meanwhile, a representative from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Culture of Timor-Leste, Dr. Afonso de Almeida, emphasized the importance of this collaboration for their country.
“We hope that through this partnership, Timor-Leste can benefit from the experience and expertise of Universitas Trisakti in various fields, including technology, economics, and natural resource management, to strengthen our education sector,” said the ministry official.
Through this collaboration, Universitas Trisakti and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Culture of Timor-Leste are committed to creating an inclusive, innovative, and sustainable educational environment for future generations.
