Jakarta, Friday, 18 July 2025 — Universitas Trisakti welcomed a delegation from Universiti Teknikal Malaysia (UTeM) for the Academic Collaboration Forum, held on the 9th floor of Building M at Universitas Trisakti. This forum marked a significant step toward strengthening academic and research cooperation between the two higher education institutions from Indonesia and Malaysia.
Today’s visit followed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Universitas Trisakti and UTeM, which took place on 14 October 2024. Through this forum, both institutions demonstrated a strong commitment to implementing the points of collaboration outlined in the MoU.
The Rector of Universitas Trisakti, Prof. Dr. Ir. Kadarsah Suryadi, DEA., extended a warm welcome to the UTeM delegation. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of cross-border collaboration in fostering a higher education ecosystem that is innovative and responsive to global challenges.
This was followed by a speech from the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Teknikal Malaysia, Professor Datuk Ts. Dr. Massila Kamalrudin, who expressed appreciation for Trisakti’s warm reception and conveyed her hope that the partnership would soon be realized through faculty exchange programs, joint research collaborations, and co-development of academic curricula.
A key part of the forum was the discussion on the implementation plans for the collaboration. The session was moderated by the Director of the Office of International Affairs and Institutional Cooperation (KUIKK), Ir. Agus Guntoro, M.Si., Ph.D., who facilitated the exchange of ideas and strategic initiatives aimed at fostering tangible cooperation in engineering and industrial technology.
Following the discussion, the event concluded with a brief closing session, an exchange of souvenirs between the institutions, and a group photo to commemorate this important occasion. Further discussions continued with the Faculty of Industrial Technology (FTI) to explore more specific areas of collaboration.
This forum is expected to serve as a sustainable first step in expanding international networks and to act as a catalyst for enhancing the quality of higher education in the Southeast Asian region.
