Universitas Trisakti and Harapan Kita Heart and Vascular Hospital Hold Public Seminar to Commemorate World Heart Day 2025

Jakarta, Monday, September 29, 2025 — To commemorate World Heart Day 2025, Universitas Trisakti, in collaboration with Harapan Kita Heart and Vascular Hospital (RSJPDHK), organized a Public Seminar titled “Don’t Miss a Beat – Be Aware of Heart Attacks: Recognize the Symptoms and First Aid for Heart Attacks.” The event took place at Building M (Syarief Thayeb), Campus A of Universitas Trisakti, and was attended by members of the Universitas Trisakti academic community as well as medical professionals from RSJPDHK.

The opening remarks were delivered by Ir. Agus Guntoro, MSi, PhD, Director of the Office of International Affairs, Cooperation, and Culture (KUIKK) at Universitas Trisakti. In his address, he emphasized that this event represents a tangible collaboration between the fields of education and healthcare in providing essential public education.

The next remarks were presented by Dr. Haruddin S., ST., M.Kes., QRMA., QHIA, Director of Operational Services at RSJPDHK, who expressed his appreciation for the joint initiative with Universitas Trisakti. He underscored the urgent need for greater public awareness of heart disease, which remains the leading cause of death worldwide.

As part of the event, a cooperation agreement was signed between RSJPDHK and Universitas Trisakti, witnessed by representatives from both institutions. This signing marked a shared commitment to advancing academic activities, research, and community service.

The program continued with a presentation by dr. Ade Meidian Ambari, Sp.JP, Subsp.P.R.Kv(K), PhD, FIHA, a cardiologist from RSJPDHK. In his session, Dr. Ade outlined the warning signs of a heart attack and explained the initial steps of first aid that can be taken before patients receive further medical treatment.

Following an interactive Q&A session, participants engaged in Basic Life Support (BLS) training, which included both theoretical and hands-on practice. The event also featured an interactive heart-health quiz and concluded with free health check-ups for all participants.

Through this initiative, Universitas Trisakti and Harapan Kita Heart and Vascular Hospital reaffirmed their commitment to raising public awareness of the importance of heart health and early recognition of its symptoms.
