Thought Leadership Forum: “Bridging Policy and Practice: Harmonizing Local Regulations with Global Sustainability Standards”

On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, the Thought Leadership Forum titled “Bridging Policy and Practice: Harmonizing Local Regulations with Global Sustainability Standards” was held at the 12th floor of Building M – Rectorate, Campus A, Universitas Trisakti. The event was organized by CECT Sustainability at Trisakti University in collaboration with the Sustainable Palm Oil Farmers Union of Indonesia (SPKS) and the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO).

The forum began with an opening speech by the Rector of Trisakti University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Kadarsah Suryadi, DEA, who also delivered the keynote address. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of aligning local policies with global sustainability standards to establish an inclusive and equitable sustainable agricultural system.

Following the opening, the main session featured six prominent speakers from the fields of policy, agribusiness, and sustainability:

  • Dida Gardera, ST., M.Sc. – Deputy II for Food and Agribusiness Coordination
  • Aron, S.H. – Regent of Sekadau, West Kalimantan
  • Dr. M. Windrawan Inantha – Deputy Director of Market Transformation (Indonesia), RSPO
  • Sabarudin Sabar, M.E. – Chairman of the Sustainable Palm Oil Farmers Union (SPKS)
  • Dr. Haskarlianus Pasang – Head of Sustainability Operations, PT SMART Tbk
  • Dr. Ir. Andriyono Kilat Adhi – Advisor to the Minister on Agricultural Product and Agribusiness Economic Diplomacy, BAPPENAS

The forum was moderated by Dr. Tri Kunawangsih P., M.Si., GRCE, a lecturer at Universitas Trisakti, who facilitated a dynamic discussion and Q&A session between the panelists and participants.

The event was attended by academics, practitioners, students, and stakeholders from both the public and private sectors. They actively engaged in discussions on the challenges and strategies for harmonizing local regulations with international sustainability standards.

The forum concluded with a group photo session featuring all speakers and participants, symbolizing a shared commitment and collaboration toward promoting sustainable practices in Indonesia’s palm oil sector.
