Jakarta, January 9, 2025 – The Industrial Engineering Study Program of the Faculty of Industrial Technology (FTI) at Universitas Trisakti (Usakti) is hosting the 17th Industrial Business Fair (IBF) under the theme “From Ideas to Impact.” The IBF is an integral part of the PPIMJ (Industrial and Service Manufacturing Project Design) practicum, which combines the courses PIM I, PIM II, and PIM III. The practicum culminates in the creation of a business plan and a prototype for a new business venture. These ventures produce innovative products ready to enter the real business world. The series of activities designed to nurture entrepreneurial skills includes the Shopping Idea Presentation, a Design Thinking Workshop, and the highlight event, the Industrial Business Fair (IBF), which also features a Business Plan Competition.
The IBF serves as a platform to showcase innovative products created by young entrepreneurs to investors, consumers, academics, industry practitioners, and the general public. This annual event marks its 17th edition this year. A total of 12 student teams from the Industrial Engineering Study Program are participating in the exhibition, presenting their solutions and innovations developed since September 2024. Each team is presenting works that embody the concept of “from ideas to impact,” focusing on applying innovative ideas to solve industrial challenges.
The event was officially opened by the Rector of Universitas Trisakti, Prof. Dr. Ir. Kadarsah Suryadi, DEA. In his opening remarks, he highlighted the importance of events like the IBF in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical implementation in the industrial sector.
“With the theme From Ideas to Impact, we hope that students will not only develop creative ideas but also create positive impacts for both the industry and society,” he said.
This event is not merely a competition but also an educational platform for students to create technology-based businesses and become technopreneurs. The Head of the POBIS Laboratory, Agung Sasongko, S.T., M.M., noted in his report that the exhibition is a crucial moment to assess the progress and readiness of students as they transition into professional roles. Beyond an academic activity, IBF aims to inspire students to explore their potential, innovate, and collaborate with various stakeholders to develop industrial solutions that bring positive impacts to society and the nation.
