The signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the Faculty of Earth and Energy Technology, Universitas Trisakti, and the Faculty of Geoscience and Geo Engineering, Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG), Vietnam, took place on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Hanoi University of Mining and Geology, Vietnam. The agreement was signed by Dr. Ir. Suryo Prakoso, S.T., M.T., Dean of the Faculty of Earth and Energy Technology, Universitas Trisakti, and Dr. To Xuan Ban, Dean of the Faculty of Geoscience and Geo Engineering, HUMG. Also in attendance were Ir. Agus Guntoro, M.Sc., Ph.D., Director of the Office of International Affairs, Cooperation, and Culture (KUIKK) at Universitas Trisakti, and Dr. Nguyen Thi Hoa Nga, Head of International Affairs at HUMG.
Following the signing ceremony, the event continued with a visit to the Geological Museum of the Faculty of Geoscience and Geo Engineering at HUMG and the implementation of the collaboration through a field visit to the UNESCO Global Geopark in Ha Giang City. The field visit was joined by students and faculty representatives from the Faculty of Earth Technology and Energy, including Ir. Agus Guntoro, M.Sc., Ph.D. (Director of KUIKK), Dra. Suliestiyah, M.Si. (Vice Dean IV of FTKE), Dr. Suherman Dwi Nuryana, S.T., M.T. (Head of the Geological Engineering Program), Dr. Kartika Fajarwati Hartono, S.T., M.T. (Lecturer of Petroleum Engineering), Yuga Maulana, S.T., M.T. (Lecturer of Mining Engineering), as well as representatives from HUMG, namely Mr. Manh An and HUMG students.
During the visit to Ha Giang City, students gained valuable insights into tectonic mechanisms, fossils and sedimentary formations, structural geology, and intercultural understanding.
This collaboration between the Faculty of Earth and Energy Technology, Universitas Trisakti, and the Faculty of Geoscience and Geo Engineering, Hanoi University of Mining and Geology, is expected to contribute positively to the internationalization efforts and the development of joint research between the two institutions.
