Rector of Universitas Trisakti: Alumni Play a Significant Role in University Development

Jakarta, March 20, 2025 – In a warm and harmonious gathering, the Rector of Universitas Trisakti, alongside the Trisakti Foundation’s leadership—Secretary of the Foundation, Prof. Muhamad Dimyati, and Treasurer, Lukman Satdik—joined Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs, Maman Abdurrahman, and Deputy Minister of Immigration and Corrections, Silmy Karim, in a Ramadhan alumni gathering. The event, held on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Universitas Trisakti, West Jakarta, was attended by approximately 200 guests from the Trisakti academic community, including alumni, faculty members, staff, and students.

Maman Abdurrahman, an alumnus of Trisakti’s Petroleum Engineering program and a member of the IKA Trisakti Supervisory Board, emphasized the importance of alumni engagement in the university’s growth. “The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs is ready to support Trisakti alumni in advancing and developing their potential,” he stated, highlighting the government’s commitment to education and alumni empowerment.

Meanwhile, Silmy Karim, an alumnus of the Faculty of Economics and Business and Chairman of IKA Trisakti, spoke about the significance of alumni unity. He urged alumni to participate in the IKA Trisakti General Assembly on April 26, 2025, at Sheraton Grand Gandaria, Jakarta. “We must unite to continue IKA Trisakti’s flagship programs, such as the Reformasi Run, Golf Tournament, Samper Alumni Podcast, and Community Service initiatives,” he asserted.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Kadarsah Suryadi, Rector of Universitas Trisakti, also underscored the vital role of alumni in advancing the university’s Tri Dharma principles (education, research, and community service). He emphasized that alumni contributions are crucial as Universitas Trisakti prepares to celebrate its 60th anniversary on November 29, 2025.

“Alumni are a key pillar in the development of both the university and society,” he remarked.

Bobby Adhityo Rizaldi, a leader at the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK RI), further reinforced the importance of Trisakti alumni in supporting Indonesia’s vision for 2045.

“We believe Trisakti alumni have immense potential to contribute to national development,” he stated.

The event’s organizing committee chair, Ananda Arthanelly (Nanda), reported that the initiative began at the start of Ramadhan with the distribution of free meals and drinks to the community in West Jakarta. “These donations came from Trisakti alumni in the form of food, beverages, and financial contributions. Our goal is to spread joy during this sacred month,” Nanda explained.

The event reached its heartfelt climax when the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs and the Deputy Minister of Immigration and Corrections distributed alumni donations to campus security personnel, cleaning staff, and small business vendors around Universitas Trisakti. The evening concluded with lively entertainment, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and togetherness among attendees.

One of the alumni, Olivia Seanders, shared her thoughts in a media interview: “This event is truly meaningful to us. Besides breaking the fast together, we can exchange ideas and strengthen our alumni network.”

This gathering not only served as a reunion but also reinforced the bond between Trisakti alumni, the university, and the surrounding community.
