Amid Extreme Weather, the Research Team from FH Usakti – UiTM Malaysia initiates a Focus Group Discussion – Research Grant themed “Eco-Anxiety, Awareness, and the Law.” As a result of the research grant collaboration between the Faculty of Law, Universitas Trisakti, and the Faculty of Law, University Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Shah Alam, Malaysia, a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was held on June 4, 2024, in Kuala Lumpur, located at the UiTM Faculty of Law. The FGD theme is highly relevant to the current climate changes, focusing on the awareness of the younger generation regarding extreme climate changes affecting their mental health. The FGD team also discussed the necessity of implementing legal frameworks to address and prevent eco-anxiety.

Amalia Zuhra, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D., and Dr. Arlina Permanasari, S.H., M.Hum., as the Head and Member of the Research Team, respectively, presented topics on “Indonesia Youth Awareness on Eco-Anxiety” and “Indonesia Regulation in the Framework on Eco-Anxiety.” Their presentations were responded to by Malaysian counterparts, Dr. Nur Faizah Ali, a psychiatrist with extensive experience in mental health issues, and Nurasykin binti Mohamed Yusuf, representing the Selangor Local Government.
