Jakarta, November 11, 2024 – The Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) and the Dental Hospital (RSGM) Universitas Trisakti officially launched the 2024 National Dental Health Month (BKGN) at Campus B, FKG Universitas Trisakti. The event began with opening remarks from Drg. Wiwiek Poedjiastoeti, M.Kes., Sp.BMM., Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, who emphasized the importance of this program as an educational initiative to raise public awareness about the importance of oral and dental health. National Dental Health Month serves as an ideal opportunity to promote a healthy lifestyle, particularly in maintaining oral health as an integral part of overall well-being.

Dr. Drg. Anggraeny Putri Sekar Palupi, Sp.BMM., Director of RSGM FKG Universitas Trisakti, added that BKGN 2024 aims to enhance knowledge and skills in dental care while introducing the latest technologies in dental medicine.

“Through this event, we aim to encourage the public to care more about their dental health, especially among children and adolescents who are still vulnerable to dental issues,” Dr. Anggraeny stated.

Drg. Ratu Mirah Afifah, GC ClintDent, MDSc, Head of Marketing for Personal Care at PT. Unilever Indonesia, expressed Unilever’s commitment to supporting national dental health programs, highlighting the company’s dedication to raising dental health awareness through their products. As part of their support, PT. Unilever provided hampers for VIP guests, including the Principal of SDN 1 Tomang.

Vice Rector I of Universitas Trisakti, Dr. Ir. Muhammad Burhannudinnur, M.Sc., IPU., ASEAN. Eng., commended the synergy between Universitas Trisakti’s FKG, RSGM FKG, and PT. Unilever in making this event a success. National Dental Health Month is a testament to collaboration between academia, industry, and society to enhance quality of life through improved dental health. The opening ceremony was marked by a ribbon-cutting by the Vice Rector I, accompanied by the Dean of FKG Universitas Trisakti and Unilever representatives, officially launching the month-long series of educational and outreach activities on campus.

Following the inauguration, attendees and guests were invited to visit various event areas, including dental health education stations, group brushing demonstrations, and a Teledentistry service that allows the public to consult directly through AI-enabled technology recently launched by Universitas Trisakti’s FKG and RSGM. This event is expected to positively impact the wider community, providing easier access to information on dental health and practical solutions for incorporating good practices into daily life.

The event concluded with Dean Drg. Wiwiek Poedjiastoeti, M.Kes., Sp.BMM., Ph.D., presenting a plaque of appreciation to Drg. Ratu Mirah Afifah, recognizing PT. Unilever’s contribution to supporting national dental health programs. National Dental Health Month 2024 at FKG and RSGM Universitas Trisakti will continue throughout November, featuring various activities that involve the community and stakeholders in the field of oral and dental health.
