In order to improve mental health literacy, the Office of International Affairs, Cooperation, and Culture (KUIKK) of Universitas Trisakti initiated a seminar titled “Mental Health Literacy: Towards Academic and Non-Academic Success” on Thursday, February 22, 2024. The event held at the KUIKK Office was attended by various elements of the Universitas Trisakti academic community, ranging from faculty leaders, lecturers, students, to educational staff.
After the welcome speech by the Head of the KUIKK Cultural Center, Dra. Agustin R. Lakawa, M.S., Ph.D., the event was officially opened by the acting Vice Rector III of Universitas Trisakti, Ir. Yoska Oktaviano, M.T. Two speakers filled this event: Sali Rahadi Asih, Ph.D., a lecturer and psychologist from the Faculty of Psychology, University of Indonesia, and Dr. Danny Wiradharma, M.S., a lecturer, medical practitioner, and author from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Trisakti, Sali Rahadi explained various aspects of mental health, such as the spectrum, benefits, and mental health disorders, as well as how to overcome them to lead a better life.
Meanwhile, Dr. Danny explained about Holistic Health which includes physical, mental, and social health. He also presented one way to maintain physical and mental health is through meditation or AIM Yoga. The event continued with a question and answer session and the completion of questionnaires to measure the psychological conditions of the participants guided by Ms. Sali. Hopefully, this event is beneficial and can help maintain and improve the mental health literacy of the participants to have a better quality of life.
