Maman Abdurrahman Elected as Chairman of IKA Trisakti

The Trisakti Alumni Association (IKA Trisakti) has officially elected Maman Abdurrahman as Chairman for the 2025–2029 term during the General Assembly (RUA) held at the Sheraton Grand Jakarta on Saturday, April 26. Maman, who currently serves as Indonesia’s Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), succeeds Silmy Karim. Silmy, having completed his tenure leading IKA Trisakti from 2021 to 2025, now serves as the Deputy Minister of Immigration and Corrections of the Republic of Indonesia (Imipas RI).

The election was attended by 15 Permanent Members of IKA Trisakti, representing alumni organizations from the faculties, institutes, and higher education units within the Trisakti Education Group. The meeting was marked by a warm and collegial atmosphere and continued with the Trisakti National Alumni Gathering, which lasted until 6:00 PM local time.

In his inaugural address, Maman Abdurrahman expressed his highest appreciation to Silmy Karim and the outgoing leadership team for their dedication and contributions over the past four years. He pledged to continue the flagship programs initiated during the previous term and to strengthen synergy among alumni to advance their alma mater.

One of the key initiatives Maman introduced is the “Trisakti Alumni Back to Barrack” movement—an appeal for alumni to reengage actively in supporting the campus and strengthening solidarity among graduates, likened to soldiers returning to their barracks. The goal is to foster a collaborative ecosystem that will sustainably support the development of Trisakti’s educational institutions.

Furthermore, Maman emphasized that his national mission to increase the entrepreneurship ratio aligns closely with IKA Trisakti’s vision. He invited all alumni to unite in building a robust network to advance both the university and the nation.

The event was also attended by several national figures, including Deputy Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) Abchabdra Akbar Supratman; Deputy Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry Todotua Pasaribu; PT Pertamina Commissioner Inge Sondaryani; Deputy Chair of Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) Sari Yulianti; Senator of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI) Aji Mirni Mawarni; and numerous DPR/DPD/DPRD members from various regions, as well as regents, mayors, and deputy leaders from across Indonesia who are Trisakti alumni.

This year marks a significant milestone for Universitas Trisakti as it celebrates its 60th anniversary—a name personally bestowed by Indonesia’s First President, Soekarno. Over six decades, Universitas Trisakti has produced hundreds of thousands of graduates who now hold strategic positions across government and private sectors nationwide. The university, comprising nine faculties and five higher education units, is currently preparing to transition into a State University with Legal Entity (PTN-BH) status.
