The Office of International Affairs, Cooperation, and Culture Universitas Trisakti held a Seminar with the theme “Ethics, Morals, and Socio-Cultural Transformation in the AI Era” on November 16, 2023, at M Building 12th Floor, Campus A Universitas Trisakti. The Rector of Universitas Trisakti, Prof. Dr. Ir. Kadarsah Suryadi, DEA also attended this seminar alongside Vice Rector IV, Prof. Dr. drg. Tri Erri Astoeti, M.Kes, Dean representatives, students, lecturers, and the general public.
In his speech, the Rector of Universitas Trisakti said that the topic raised in this seminar was really important in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI). With the development of AI, Japan has entered the society 5.0 era and the presence of AI has helped the elderly and disabled in terms of Banking and health. Regarding the seminar theme, the Chancellor conveyed the importance of morals and ethics in this technology. Using the logic of the learning process in children, he revealed that experts must be careful in entering information and knowledge into AI because if the information entered is wrong, the user will get the wrong information too. Therefore, morals must be prioritized in the use and development of AI.

The conclusion that can be drawn from this seminar is that AI is a revolutionary technology. Therefore, there needs to be ethical principles established so that AI can be used wisely. In this case, the government has also started to develop regulations on the development of AI in Indonesia, especially from an ethical perspective.
We hope that this seminar can be a form of USAKTI’s contribution to supporting technological development in Indonesia, and it is hoped that it can also encourage the use and innovation of technology in order to improve human living standards well and wisely.
