On Saturday, May 17, 2025, the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Technology (FALTL), Universitas Trisakti, successfully held an event titled JAS MERAH 2025 (an acronym for “Jangan Sekali-kali Melupakan Sejarah” – Never Forget History). This event served as a moment of reflection on the historic Tragedy of May 12, 1998, while also aiming to instill the spirit of reform and the values of integrity, nationalism, and human rights awareness among students.

Held at the Main Studio, 8th Floor, Building K, FALTL Universitas Trisakti, the event was attended by active students from the Class of 2024. Throughout the program, participants received a series of presentations covering the history of the May 12 tragedy, the dynamics of human rights advocacy, and the importance of freedom of expression within academic environments. In addition, students participated in a commemorative visit to the May 12 Museum and took part in small-group discussions or Focus Group Discussions (FGDs).

As a form of active participation, students were required to create infographic summaries of their discussion outcomes and join a video narration competition themed around the May 12 Tragedy. This program also served as a prerequisite for students wishing to take part in future development activities, such as the Basic Level Student Management Skills Training (LKMM-TD).

Carrying the theme “Upholding Integrity through Concrete Action”, JAS MERAH 2025 aimed to cultivate students with critical thinking, active engagement, and a sense of responsibility in voicing truth and justice. We extend our sincere gratitude to all committee members, speakers, and supporters who contributed to the success of this event.
