To assist students in preparing for their future careers, the Career Center of Universitas Trisakti collaborated with Taylor’s University Malaysia to organize the International Development Class “Strategic Career Planning: Mapping Your Journey To Success” on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Building M (Syarief Thayeb), Campus A Universitas Trisakti. The event was attended by 30 participants representing each study program at Universitas Trisakti.

Mr. Andry Prima, MT., Head of the Student Administration Bureau of Universitas Trisakti, who was present at the event, delivered a speech expressing that the current worldview regards the West as the center of progress. In this context, Malaysia stands out as a country with a strong and rapidly developing economy in the Eastern world. Representatives from Taylor’s University Malaysia applied the global perspectives they brought to share with Universitas Trisakti students for learning purposes. There is great hope that the relationship between the universities can expand to other programs such as student and faculty exchanges over several semesters.

The event featured several speakers from Taylor’s University, including:

• Raja Edriana Baizura (Head, Career Services Taylor’s University, Malaysia)
• Khairul Hazreen (Asst. Manager Career Services Taylor’s University, Malaysia)
• Aaron Francis Nathan (Career Advisor Taylor’s University)

During the event, students participated in various sessions including Interest Profiler, a program designed to help them explore their interests and career potentials. There was also a session on Career Map vs. Career Objective, where students were guided in mapping their career goals with available career paths. Additionally, there was a session on Personal Branding, where they learned about the importance of building a strong professional image. Finally, there was a Mock Interview session, where students had the opportunity to practice their communication and presentation skills in the context of job interviews.

The event concluded with the presentation of certificates to the speakers, which was handed over directly by Richy Wijaya W., S.E., M.M., C.R.A., Head of the Career Center of Universitas Trisakti.

With the spirit of synergy with Taylor’s University, it is hoped that the future will bring significant progress in the internationalization of Universitas Trisakti, and that Universitas Trisakti students who participated in this event will be better prepared to face the competition and challenges in the competitive career world, especially in the international arena.
