Information Literacy on E-resources of the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia

The Universitas Trisakti Library Unit held an online event on information literacy about the e-resources of the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia. The event was conducted virtually via Zoom on Friday, October 18, 2024, and was attended by various participants, including academics and students.

The event began with opening remarks by the Head of the Library Unit, Rizka Medina, S.Hum, who highlighted that the purpose of the webinar was to enhance understanding and skills in utilizing the electronic resources provided by the National Library of Indonesia. In this digital era, e-resources play an increasingly important role in supporting learning, research, and knowledge development. According to data from the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII), internet penetration in Indonesia reached 73.7% of the total population in 2023. This figure demonstrates the vast potential for utilizing e-resources to improve information literacy in society.

The first speaker, Sutrilastio, M.Hum, a librarian from the National Library, presented material on the utilization of the digital collections available at the National Library. He explained the various types of digital resources and how to access them, along with the benefits users can gain.

In the second session, Salamun Ababil, S.Hum, also from the National Library, provided a more in-depth explanation of the National Library’s digital collections. He outlined practical steps to access and utilize these resources and encouraged participants to make active use of the available services. The event concluded with a Q&A session, during which participants took full advantage of the opportunity to explore further information on e-resources.

Through this event, it is hoped that participants gained new insights and skills in accessing and utilizing the e-resources of the National Library of Indonesia optimally. The knowledge gained from the webinar is expected to be applied in academic, professional, and daily activities, thereby contributing to improved information literacy in society.
