Students from the Industrial Engineering Department, Faculty of Industrial Technology (FTI), Universitas Trisakti, proudly secured 3rd place and won the Best Product category at the PPIC (Production Planning and Inventory Control) 2024 competition. The event was organized by the Industrial Engineering Student Association (HMTI) of UPN Veteran Yogyakarta.
PPIC is an annual competition aimed at providing Industrial Engineering students across Indonesia with a platform to deepen their expertise, particularly in Production Planning and Inventory Control. This year’s theme, “Plastic Industry Evolution: From Production to Sustainable Solutions,” challenged participants to propose innovative solutions for sustainability in the plastics industry.
The Chitoteam Usakti, representing Universitas Trisakti, presented a groundbreaking project titled “Chitoguard Turtle: Chitosan Gel Innovation for Microplastic Coagulation Using Turtle Robots as an Innovative Collection Solution.” Their project addresses the pressing issue of microplastic pollution in Indonesian waters by utilizing chitosan gel, a sustainable material derived from shell waste, alongside robotic technology for microplastic collection.
This remarkable achievement not only highlights the creativity and dedication of Universitas Trisakti students but also underscores their commitment to contributing impactful solutions to environmental challenges.
Congratulations to The Chitoteam Usakti for bringing pride to Universitas Trisakti! May this success inspire more students to pursue innovative and sustainable endeavors.
