FALTL Universitas Trisakti Alumni Celebrate the 80th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence at Lapangan Banteng

Jakarta (16/08) – Hundreds of alumni from the Faculty of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Technology (FALTL) Universitas Trisakti gathered at Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta, for the “Ngumpul Alumni FALTL Lintas Angkatan” event. The gathering was part of the celebration of the 80th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence and in support of Flora and Fauna (Flona) 2025, a prestigious annual exhibition held in Jakarta.

The event opened with a lively parade around Lapangan Banteng, accompanied by the Trisakti Drum Corps (DCT), which performed patriotic and traditional songs as a tribute to Indonesia’s nationalism and cultural diversity. The highlight of the program took place at the central fountain, set against Jakarta’s golden sunset sky, creating a spectacular moment for both participants and spectators.

The event was attended by several prominent figures who expressed their support and appreciation, including Lukman Sungkar (Secretary General of IKA Trisakti), Silmy Karim (Deputy Minister of Immigration and Corrections, as well as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of IKA Trisakti), Aji Mirni Mawarni (Member of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia and Chairperson of IKA FALTL), Meina F. Paloh (Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of IKA FALTL), M. Fajar Sauri (Head of the Jakarta Provincial Parks and Urban Forest Service), Yoska Oktaviano (Vice Rector III of Universitas Trisakti), and Silia Yuslim (Dean of FALTL).

In his remarks, Silmy Karim praised the solidarity of FALTL alumni and their strong spirit of nationalism in commemorating Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day. He also encouraged alumni to remain actively involved in supporting sustainable development at both the city and national levels.

M. Fajar Sauri expressed his deep appreciation for the alumni’s participation in Flona 2025, which added to the vibrancy of the Independence Day celebration. He emphasized that Flona is a source of pride for Jakarta as an annual event that promotes both local and national potential while fostering the development of a greener and more sustainable urban environment.

Aji Mirni Mawarni, Chairperson of IKA FALTL, expressed her hope that this gathering would not only strengthen connections among alumni across generations but also serve as a platform to showcase their works and support the growth of local and national MSMEs. She further highlighted the importance of the event as a space for exchanging ideas and innovations in the advancement of green spaces and environmental technology.

As an alumni association, IKA FALTL remains committed to supporting Jakarta’s vision of becoming a sustainable global city resilient to climate change. Alumni actively contribute through various initiatives that enhance the development of green open spaces and promote innovation in environmental management technologies.

The event concluded with a warm alumni gathering, followed by a visit to the IKA FALTL booth, which featured creative works by alumni as well as comprehensive information about the Faculty of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Technology at Universitas Trisakti.

This event not only reinforced the bonds of fellowship among alumni but also reaffirmed their shared commitment to contributing to the development of a greener, sustainable, and environmentally conscious city.
