The Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning (FTSP) Universitas Trisakti organized an International Guest Lecture Sustainable Series event themed “Advancements in Malaysian Architectural Practices.” This event is part of FTSP Usakti’s efforts to broaden the horizons of students and academics in the field of architecture, focusing on the latest practices and innovations from Malaysia.
Held on August 13, 2024, at the FTSP Usakti Auditorium, the event featured three lecturers from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia, as speakers. They presented important topics related to sustainable and contextual design in Malaysian architecture. The three speakers were:
The event was opened by Dr. Ir. Inavonna, MT., Head of the Architecture Study Program at FTSP Trisakti University. In her opening remarks, she emphasized that this collaboration provides a valuable opportunity for Trisakti University.
“The collaboration with UiTM, Malaysia, offers a valuable opportunity for us to learn directly from experts in the field of architecture. Discussions on autism-friendly design, green building development, and the design of Malay houses in the local context of Sarawak are relevant and important topics. We hope this event will enrich knowledge and inspiration, as well as enhance the quality of architectural practice in Indonesia,” said Dr. Ir. Inavonna, MT.
This discussion is expected to open new perspectives and encourage the adoption of better sustainable architectural practices in Indonesia. With this event, the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning at Trisakti University remains committed to expanding its international academic network and improving the quality of education in the field of architecture through collaboration and knowledge exchange.
