Jakarta – Deputy Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR RI), Eddy Soeparno, emphasized that Indonesia is at a critical juncture in its national energy policy. He stressed that the country’s heavy reliance on fossil fuels must come to an end in the face of the growing threat of climate change.

According to him, the increasing pace of industrial activity, the construction of factories, and the expansion of energy-intensive data centers demand a sustainable energy supply strategy. At the same time, Indonesia has committed to reducing carbon emissions and achieving its decarbonization targets by 2060.
