On Monday, May 13, 2024, the auditorium of the Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Indonesia witnessed a significant moment in the academic career of Dr. drg. Tri Putriany Agustin, Sp.KGA from Universitas Trisakti. In this heartfelt and prestigious event, Dr. Tri Putriany Agustin successfully attained her doctorate after defending her dissertation titled “The Involvement of Streptococcus Sanguinis and Streptococcus Gordoni in the Interaction Between Streptococcus Mutans and Candida Albicans in Early Childhood Caries.” She graduated with the highest honors, Cum Laude, with a GPA of 4.00.

In her dissertation, Dr. Tri Putriany Agustin presented in-depth research on the role of Streptococcus Sanguinis and Streptococcus Gordoni in the complex interaction between Streptococcus Mutans and Candida Albicans that leads to Early Childhood Caries. This research opens new insights into the mechanisms of dental disease in young children and makes significant contributions to the development of prevention and treatment strategies.

The doctoral promotion ceremony was attended by colleagues, family, and students who appreciated Dr. Tri Putriany Agustin’s remarkable achievements in academia. The chair of the session was Prof. drg. Anton Rahardjo, MKM., Ph.D. The supervisors were Prof. drg. Heriandi Sutadi, Ph.D., Sp.KGA(K)., KKA., and co-supervisors Prof. drg. Boy M. Bachtiar, M.S., Ph.D., PBO., and Dr. drg. Mochamad Fahlevi Rizal, Sp.KGA(K)., PKOA. The head examiner was Prof. drg. Ariadna Adisattya Djais, M.Biomed., Ph.D., PBO.
