Community Service: Dental Health Education and Training on Crowded Teeth for Sunday School Teachers and Parents at GBI HMJ Graha Greenville, West Jakarta

The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Trisakti, conducted a Community Service (PkM) activity focused on Dental and Oral Health Education and Training on Crowded Teeth for the teaching staff and parents of Sunday School students at GBI HMJ Graha Greenville. The event took place on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 08:00 to 12:00 WIB, at Gereja Bethel Indonesia (GBI) Hanya Menyembah Jesus (HMJ), Graha Greenville, West Jakarta.

The program was led by drg. Lia Hapsari Andayani, M.Epid, and supported by four faculty members:

  • Dr. drg. Joko Kusnoto, MS, Sp.Ort
  • drg. Olivia Piona Sahelangi, Sp.Ort
  • drg. Arianne Dwimega, Sp.KGA
  • drg. Dina Ratnasari, Sp.KG(K)

They were assisted by nine students from the Dentistry Professional Program:
Dhea Meylani, SKG; Dika Andiana Sari Gunawan, SKG; Brigitta, SKG; Timotius William Yusuf, SKG; Ingrid Aurelia Genacia Cokro, SKG; Isabella Audy Tania, SKG; Alexander Kosasih, SKG; Winscheel Go, SKG; and Nathania Jesslyn, SKG. Also contributing were one master’s student from the Dental Sciences Program, Michelle, SKG, an FKG Usakti alumna, drg. Aneizza Danya Putri, MARS, and one education staff member, Ms. Suci Centini, SE.

A total of 32 participants attended the event enthusiastically until the end. In her opening remarks, drg. Lia Hapsari Andayani, M.Epid, expressed her hope that this educational activity would be valuable for teachers and parents, and that the knowledge shared could be extended to their families and communities.

The session covered the causes, impacts, prevention, and treatment of crowded teeth, along with practical training on proper brushing techniques and the correct use of dental floss. A representative of the GBI HMJ Graha Greenville committee, Ms. Ivana Kamilie, M.Psi, conveyed her hope that such community service programs would continue regularly.

As a token of appreciation, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and certificates were distributed to parents and teachers to encourage the ongoing application of what they had learned.
