The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Trisakti (FK Usakti), once again held its Community Service (Abdimas) event with the theme “Strive for Health Together with the Community.” This event took place on November 9, 2024, at the Nagrak Campus and was attended by residents from Nagrak Village and Ciangsana Village.
Abdimas 2024 is an annual event that represents the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Trisakti’s commitment to supporting community health improvement. This year, 350 participants joined Abdimas, including teams of faculty members, staff, alumni, and students from the 2021 and 2023 classes, who actively participated in providing health education and services to the surrounding community.
The event was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Trisakti, Dr. Yenny, Sp.FK, who, in her remarks, emphasized the importance of collaboration between academia and the community to achieve a healthier society. Dr. Yenny also highlighted that activities like this are part of the faculty’s efforts to make a real contribution to health while strengthening community relations.
“Health is not only an individual responsibility but a shared one. Therefore, through this event, we strive to educate and empower the community in maintaining and improving their health. We hope that events like these can bring positive and sustainable impacts to Nagrak Village and Ciangsana Village,” said Dr. Yenny in her speech.
This year’s Abdimas activities were divided into 13 education stations, each focusing on different topics, ranging from disease prevention information and free health check-ups to education on healthy lifestyles and balanced nutrition. Participants, including students and village residents, actively engaged in interactive sessions led by faculty and students, creating a dynamic and enthusiastic atmosphere.
Abdimas 2024 is a tangible proof of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Trisakti’s commitment to positively impacting the surrounding community, while also providing students with opportunities to practice and learn directly in the field. Additionally, this activity teaches students the values of social dedication and professionalism, which will shape them into doctors who care about community welfare.
In closing, the Dean of FK Usakti expressed the hope that the Abdimas event would continue to be held annually and serve as an effective means of improving community health.
“We hope that this activity does not end today but can provide lasting benefits to the communities of Nagrak Village, Ciangsana Village, and beyond,” concluded Dr. Yenny.
This event is expected to strengthen the relationship between the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Trisakti, and the community while encouraging a healthier and more prosperous society through collective efforts.
