The Department of Accounting, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Trisakti, in collaboration with the Indonesian Institute of Accountants (IAI) – Educator Accountants Compartment, IAI Jakarta Chapter, and the Jakarta Region Accounting Lecturers Forum, successfully hosted the 12th Scientific Conference on Accounting (KIA XII) and the 2nd International Conference on April 21–22, 2025, at the Auditorium of the S Building, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Trisakti, Jakarta.

This year’s conference adopted the theme:
“ICoFR: Opportunities and Challenges for the Accounting Profession in Financial Reporting to Support Entity Sustainability,”
which emphasized the crucial role of internal control in financial reporting to support organizational sustainability amid global challenges and rapid technological advancement.

The event began with an activity report delivered by Dr. Murtanto, SE., M.Si., Ak., CA., CPIA., CCFA, as Chair of the Organizing Committee. It was officially opened by the Rector of Universitas Trisakti, Prof. Dr. Ir. Kadarsah Suryadi, DEA, who, in his opening remarks, underlined the importance of integrating sustainability values into modern accounting practices, and the role of universities in shaping future-ready accountants to meet global demands.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Erawati, S.H., K.N., M.T., Head of the Center for Financial Profession Development at the Indonesian Ministry of Finance, who presented on government policies to strengthen the financial profession in support of sustainable and transparent national development.

The conference featured distinguished speakers from various institutions and countries, including academics from Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia, as well as practitioners from the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), PT Garuda Indonesia, and PT Deloitte Indonesia. Discussions focused on strategic issues such as sustainability reporting, auditing challenges in the digital era, and responsible corporate governance practices supported by effective internal control.

This event served as an important platform for knowledge and experience exchange among academics, regulators, and practitioners, while also reinforcing international cooperation networks in the fields of accounting and business. The conference was officially closed by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Trisakti, Prof. Dr. Yolanda Masnita Siagian, MM, CIRR, CMA, CPM (Asia).

With its timely theme and the presence of experts from various sectors, KIA XII & the 2nd International Conference on Accounting and Business reaffirmed Universitas Trisakti’s commitment to fostering the development of an adaptive and forward-looking accounting profession. The upcoming KIA XIII will be hosted by Universitas Bunda Mulia.
