Universitas Trisakti Holds 80th Independence Day Ceremony and Inauguration of New Facilities

Jakarta, August 17, 2025 – Universitas Trisakti solemnly held a ceremony to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia on Sunday (8/17) at the university courtyard. The ceremony was led by the Secretary of the Trisakti Foundation, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Dimyati, M.Si., who delivered a message emphasizing the importance of preserving the spirit of independence in facing the nation’s future challenges.

In his address, Prof. Dimyati highlighted that the values of struggle must continue to live on among the younger generation, especially students, as the nation’s future leaders. He also underlined Universitas Trisakti’s significant role, not only as part of the nation’s historical journey but also as a globally recognized institution.
“Universitas Trisakti is now ranked among global universities. QS has acknowledged Usakti as a highly deserving higher education institution. Out of tens of thousands of universities worldwide, we have reached the ranking range of 1200–1400,” he stated.

Following the ceremony, the celebration continued with the inauguration of several new facilities at Universitas Trisakti, including:

  • Universitas Trisakti Gate, symbolizing the pride and identity of the campus.
  • Basketball Court, supporting the development of students’ interests and talents in sports.
  • Campus Plaza, an open space for both academic and non-academic activities.
  • Creativity Park, serving as a hub of inspiration, creativity, and interaction for the academic community.

The inauguration was officiated by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Dimyati, M.Si., Secretary of the Trisakti Foundation, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Ir. Kadarsah Suryadi, DEA, Rector of Universitas Trisakti.

The 80th Independence Day celebration became even more vibrant with a spirited flashmob performance presented by the Universitas Trisakti academic community, further enhancing the sense of togetherness and patriotism among participants.

The festivities continued with a traditional costume mix-and-match competition, joined by students, lecturers, and staff. This event not only showcased cultural diversity but also strengthened the spirit of unity within the campus environment.

This special occasion was also marked by the launch of the mascot, symbolizing the commencement of the 60th Anniversary (Dies Natalis) of Universitas Trisakti, reflecting the university’s long journey in producing outstanding graduates and contributing to the nation.

Through these events, Universitas Trisakti reaffirms its commitment to continuous growth, strengthening its identity, and achieving excellence in its mature years, in harmony with the enduring spirit of Indonesia’s independence.
