Jakarta, March 14, 2025 – The Doctoral Program in Architecture at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning (FTSP), Universitas Trisakti, held a public lecture titled “Doctoral Architecture Dissertation Research Strategies” on Friday, March 14, 2025. The event was conducted online via Zoom Meeting and was attended by doctoral students, students from similar doctoral programs, and members of the general public interested in architectural research.

The public lecture was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning at Universitas Trisakti, Dr. Ir. A. Hadi Prabowo, MT., who emphasized the importance of adopting the right research strategy when preparing a doctoral dissertation. He also highlighted that architectural research is not solely focused on technical aspects but also on innovation and its impact on the environment and society.

The keynote speaker for the lecture was Prof. Ir. Achmad Djunaedi, MURP., Ph.D., from the Department of Architecture and Planning, Faculty of Engineering, Gadjah Mada University. In his presentation, Prof. Djunaedi elaborated on various effective research strategies for doctoral dissertations, including research methodologies, data analysis approaches, and common challenges faced by doctoral students.

The discussion was moderated by Dr. Ir. Nurhikmah Budi Hartanti, MT., Head of the Doctoral Program in Architecture at FTSP, Universitas Trisakti. She provided insights into how students can leverage academic resources and interdisciplinary collaboration in their research.

Participants showed great enthusiasm, as evidenced by the numerous questions raised during the discussion session. Some attendees highlighted the challenges of developing case-based research in Indonesia and balancing theoretical and practical aspects in architectural dissertations.

This public lecture is expected to provide clearer guidance for doctoral students in composing their dissertations while enriching the body of knowledge in architecture through higher-quality and more impactful research.
