Jakarta, December 19, 2024 – The Indonesian Rectors’ Forum (FRI) 2024 hosted a significant event under the theme “University Collaboration Towards Indonesia Gold 2045.” This forum aimed to discuss the role of universities in supporting Indonesia’s vision for 2045, which aims for the country to become a developed nation with a superior workforce on the 100th anniversary of its independence. The event was opened by Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of Indonesia, who emphasized the importance of collaboration among universities as a key factor in achieving this ambitious vision.
“Universities in Indonesia must become the main pillar in producing outstanding generations ready to compete in the global arena. Collaboration between higher education institutions will accelerate this transformation,” stated Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro in his opening speech.
In this forum, Prof. Dr. Ir. Kadarsah Suryadi, DEA, Rector of Universitas Trisakti, was present, accompanied by Dr. Ir. Muhammad Burhannudinnur, M.Sc., IPU, ASEAN Eng, Vice Rector I, and Dr. drg. Dewi Priandini, Sp. PM, Head of the Public Relations Unit. They joined the discussion on various strategic initiatives to enhance the quality of higher education in Indonesia. One key focus was the importance of developing a research- and innovation-based curriculum and improving faculty quality through training and competency development. Collaboration among universities was also emphasized to create a more inclusive, connected educational ecosystem capable of addressing global challenges.
Additionally, the forum discussed the implementation of digital technologies in learning and the strengthening of education programs aligned with industry and societal needs. Prof. Dr. Ir. Kadarsah Suryadi, DEA, Rector of Universitas Trisakti, one of the speakers at the forum, stated that collaboration between universities and the industrial sector would accelerate the adoption of the latest technologies necessary for supporting national economic transformation.
The event was also attended by numerous education experts and industry practitioners, who shared insights on the importance of partnerships between academia and the private sector in advancing the higher education system in Indonesia. They stressed that only by strengthening these collaborative networks can Indonesia maximize the potential of its human resources to support long-term economic development.
As part of its commitment, FRI also organized various panel discussions and workshops, allowing participants to share experiences and create cross-university collaborations that would positively impact the quality of education in the country.
With the Indonesian Rectors’ Forum 2024, it is hoped that Indonesian universities will be better prepared to face global challenges and contribute significantly to realizing Indonesia Gold 2045, a nation with a high-quality workforce ready to compete internationally.
