December 13, 2024 – The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Universitas Trisakti successfully hosted the Art and Culture Nusantara Fair on Friday, December 13, 2024. Coinciding with Indonesia’s Nusantara Day celebrated annually on December 13, the event aimed to promote and preserve Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage while fostering a sense of nationalism among students.
The event was officially opened by the Vice Dean I of FEB Universitas Trisakti, Dr. Husna Leila Yusran, MM, CMA, CPMA, who praised the students’ initiative in exploring and promoting the cultural legacy of Nusantara. In her remarks, Dr. Husna emphasized the importance of understanding and safeguarding Indonesia’s cultural diversity in an increasingly globalized world.
“Through this event, we witness the incredible richness and diversity of Indonesian culture. This is a positive step in introducing our cultural heritage to the younger generation, particularly students,” Dr. Husna stated during her speech.
The event continued with a speech from the Head of the FEB’s Excellence Class Program, Dra. RR. Diah Astarini, MM, CMA. She highlighted the program’s commitment to providing opportunities for students to develop themselves academically and non-academically, including through cultural initiatives like the Art and Culture Nusantara Fair.
“This is part of our effort to offer students a broader experience, blending academic learning with exposure to Indonesia’s cultural wealth,” Dra. Diah Astarini explained.
The event featured captivating traditional art performances and a Nusantara food bazaar showcasing a variety of Indonesian culinary specialties from different regions. The bazaar became a major attraction for visitors, offering authentic flavors of Indonesia, from satay and nasi goreng to a range of traditional sweet delicacies.
The Art and Culture Nusantara Fair received an enthusiastic response from the Universitas Trisakti academic community and visitors, who immersed themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of Nusantara culture. Held on Nusantara Day, the event was not only a celebration of Indonesia’s cultural wealth but also a tribute to the nation’s identity.
With the success of this event, the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Trisakti continues to demonstrate its vital role in supporting activities that integrate education with cultural preservation. The Art and Culture Nusantara Fair is expected to become an annual tradition, further promoting and safeguarding Indonesia’s cultural heritage among students and the wider community.
