National Seminar by the Faculty of Law, Universitas Trisakti: “Resolving Regional Election Disputes in Indonesia 2024”

Jakarta, November 18, 2024 – The Constitutional Law Department of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Trisakti, hosted a National Seminar themed “Resolving Regional Election Disputes in Indonesia 2024.” The hybrid event took place in the Auditorium of Building H, Universitas Trisakti, and was also accessible via Zoom Meeting. The seminar gathered academics, legal practitioners, and students, guided by moderator Eko Primananda, S.H., M.H., and commenced with an opening address by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Dra. Siti Nurbaiti, S.H., M.Hum.

In her remarks, Dr. Siti Nurbaiti emphasized the significance of this seminar, considering the 2024 Regional Elections (Pilkada) as a critical milestone for Indonesia’s democracy.

The seminar featured esteemed speakers:

    (Head of Public Relations and Protocol, Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia)
  • Rahmat Bagia, S.H., LL.M
    (Chairman of the Election Supervisory Board of the Republic of Indonesia – Bawaslu RI)
  • Dr. Tri Sulistyowati, S.H., M.Hum
    (Vice Dean IV, Faculty of Law, Universitas Trisakti)

During the discussion, the speakers shared insights and experiences regarding legal procedures for resolving election disputes and addressed potential challenges ahead of the 2024 simultaneous regional elections.

The seminar attracted participants from diverse backgrounds, attending both in-person and online. It aimed to contribute positively to strengthening Indonesia’s legal framework and ensuring a more democratic electoral process.
