PKKMB Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning Universitas Trisakti: Fostering Innovation and Tolerance among New Students

Jakarta, August 29, 2024 – The Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning Universitas Trisakti successfully held the Campus Life Introduction Program for New Students (PKKMB), which was attended by 120 new students. The event took place over two days, from August 28 to 29, 2024, and was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning, Dr. Ir. A. Hadi Prabowo, MT. The event was also attended by the Acting Vice Rector III of Universitas Trisakti, Ir. Yoska Oktaviano, MT.

The first day of PKKMB began with a series of presentations from prominent speakers. Dr. Bagus Muljadi, Assistant Professor at the University of Nottingham, opened the session with a discussion on the philosophy of education, encouraging students to understand the deeper meaning of the learning process and the importance of having a vision in pursuing higher education.

This was followed by a session on National Defense delivered by Ir. Deni Santo, S.T., M.Sc., IPU., ASEAN ENG., Expert Staff to the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency, who emphasized the importance of national defense awareness among the younger generation, particularly in maintaining the unity and sovereignty of the nation.

Relan Masato, Co-Founder of KREA Architects, provided insights into Professional Ethics and Risk Management. This session offered new students valuable perspectives on the ethical responsibilities they will hold in their future professions.

Ir. Muhammad Iqbal Fanshury, S.T., IPP, Technic and Design Section Head at Sinar Mas Land, continued with a discussion on risk management, offering practical insights from the industry on managing risks in civil engineering and planning projects.

The entrepreneurship session, presented by Fauzan Adziman, PhD., Co-Founder and Director of Alloyed, Oxford, concluded the first day. Fauzan inspired the new students with his experiences and insights on innovation and entrepreneurship, emphasizing the importance of creative and adaptive thinking in the modern era.

On the second day of the PKKMB event, there were introductions and presentations by faculty leaders, discussions on student activities, and sessions on anti-bullying, anti-intolerance by the Anti-Bullying Task Force, prevention of sexual violence by the PPKS Task Force, and anti-plagiarism delivered by Dr. Christy Anandha Putri, ST., MT.

With the diverse range of topics covered over the two days, PKKMB at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning, Universitas Trisakti, served not only as a welcoming event for new students but also as a platform for instilling essential values that will guide them through their academic journey ahead.
