On Tuesday, July 9, 2024, the Faculty of Law Universitas Trisakti held a scientific discussion themed “Article Standards and Refinement: Establishing a Journal Towards Scopus Indexing.” This event was designed to provide insights and guidance to lecturers, journal managers, and students in their efforts to publish journals that can be indexed in Scopus. The event, initiated by the Faculty of Law’s Research and Community Service Council, was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Trisakti University, Dr. Dra. Hj. Siti Nurbaiti, SH. MH, who emphasized the importance of improving journal quality to meet international standards.
“With this effort, we hope to enhance the competitiveness of academics and researchers at the global level,” she said in her opening remarks.
The main speaker was Ridwan Arifin, S.H, LLM, a lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Semarang State University. Ridwan Arifin is also known as the Editor in Chief of the Journal of Indonesian Legal Studies (Scopus Q1) and Managing Editor of Lex Scientia Law Review (Scopus Q2) and Managing Editor of Law and Legal Reform (Scopus) at the Faculty of Law, Semarang State University. He shared his knowledge and experience in writing scientific articles to be accepted in Scopus-indexed journals and in managing and accelerating journals towards Scopus indexing within the Faculty of Law, Universitas Trisakti. He also provided important tips and strategies to achieve these goals.
The event was moderated by Dr. Maria Silvya E. Wangga, SH, MH, the Head of the Criminal Law Study Center at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Trisakti. Dr. Maria Silvya successfully guided the discussion, and the plan to establish the Trisakti Criminal Law Review at the Criminal Law Study Center of the Faculty of Law, Trisakti University received support from the Dean, the Research and Community Service Council, and assistance from Mr. Ridwan.
By organizing this event, the Faculty of Law at Trisakti University hopes to inspire and motivate lecturers, journal managers, and students to continue creating and innovating in the field of legal research and to improve the quality of academic publications in Indonesia.
