On Wednesday, June 19, 2024, Universitas Trisakti and Balikpapan University officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen cooperation in the fields of educational development, research, community service, and human resource development. The signing ceremony, which took place on the 9th floor of Building M Universitas Trisakti, was attended by leaders, deans, and important representatives from both universities.

This MOU reflects a strong commitment from both institutions to enhance the quality of higher education, promote innovation in research, and support community service. The cooperation is designed to complement each other and leverage the strengths of each university to achieve common goals in the context of educational globalization.

In his remarks, the Rector of Universitas Trisakti, Prof. Dr. Ir. Kadarsah Suryadi, DEA, stated that this MOU will not only expand access to educational and research resources but will also strengthen the international networks of both universities in facing global challenges. He also emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in generating knowledge beneficial to society. He particularly stressed the significance of education in the health sciences, which is currently in high demand in Kalimantan, especially in the health sector. Trisakti University plays a significant role in the development of the Nusantara Capital (IKN).

Meanwhile, the Rector of Balikpapan University, Dr. Ir. M. Isradi Zainal, M.T., M.H., M.M., DESS., M.K.K.K., IPU., welcomed this agreement as a strategic step to enhance academic competitiveness and curriculum relevance to industry needs. Balikpapan University is committed to actively contributing to research development beneficial to national development.

This MOU is expected to strengthen the relationship and synergy between Universitas Trisakti and Balikpapan University in creating new breakthroughs in education, research, and community service, especially in the health sector for Balikpapan University. Both institutions hope that this cooperation will make a significant contribution to the advancement of higher education in Indonesia and also to the Indonesian nation.
