Enriching Knowledge of Architecture and Urbanism, Universitas Trisakti Welcomes International Guest Lecturer

The Department of Architecture at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning, Universitas Trisakti, in collaboration with Thammasat Design School, organized an international guest lecture featuring Dr. Adrian Lo, a Director of Urban Design & Development International and also a lecturer. He presented two main topics: “International Multidisciplinary Summer School: Systematic Design for Health” and “Density & Transit: Understanding Hong Kong’s Vertical Compact City” with moderator Akhlish Diinal Aziiz, S.T., M.T., lecturer of Architecture at FTSP Usakti. The guest lecture was held on February 27, 2024, at the Gedung C Auditorium.

The guest lecture was opened by the Dean of FTSP Usakti, Dr. Ir. A. Hadi Prabowo, M.T., who stated that the International Guest Lecture event is part of Trisakti University’s efforts to continuously improve the quality of education and research in the field of architecture. “We are very grateful to the speakers who have shared their knowledge and experience with us. Hopefully, this event can provide new inspiration for our students and teaching staff.” The event was attended by students and teaching staff from the Department of Architecture, Universitas Trisakti.

Through the speakers’ presentations, we gained a better understanding of how the harmonious integration of various urban elements can create sustainable and dynamic environments. Additionally, we learned about how Hong Kong has successfully overcome limited land constraints with innovative and well-planned approaches.

The guest lecture provided a platform for the exchange of ideas in urban planning and development. Participants actively engaged in discussions about the challenges and opportunities related to replicating aspects of the Hong Kong model in other cities. The event underscored the importance of holistic planning strategies that prioritize connectivity, accessibility, and environmental sustainability.
